When Radhika moved back to Kenya, she wanted to invest her savings in stock markets, but she couldn’t find any digital solutions that provided access to local or global markets. The traditional options available in the market required high investment amounts, had long account opening processes and were expensive. Coming from an investment background where she could easily access investing from her phone, she set out to solve this problem. She researched how locals were investing and found the average Kenyan lacked financial education and lacked access to financial markets. This manifested with Kenyans holding their savings in cash. This is a problem because holding savings as cash means Kenyans are losing purchasing power over time as inflation continues to grow.
