Nairobi Securities Exchange Market Cap Reaches KSh 1.9 trillion

Nairobi Securities Exchange Sees KSh 419.5 Billion Gains, Boosted by Strong Local Investor Confidence.


Investors at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) saw gains of KSh 419.5 billion in the first 10 months of 2024, pushing the market capitalization to KSh 1.9 trillion by October. The NSE All Share Index (NASI) surged 28.9% to 118.73 points, while the NSE 20 Share Index rose by 28%, reflecting strong local investor confidence.


Leading sectors included Energy and Petroleum, which gained 53.5%, followed by construction and banking. October alone contributed KSh 182.3 billion to market cap, despite continued net selling by foreign investors, with outflows totaling KSh 569.9 million.
