Ecosia and Qwant Collaborate on European Search Index

European search engines Ecosia and Qwant have teamed up to create a European search index to reduce reliance on Google and other U.S. tech giants. Currently, Google controls over 90% of the global search market, leaving competitors dependent on its infrastructure.

By building their own search index, Ecosia and Qwant aim to offer more independent, privacy-focused alternatives to Google and promote a competitive search engine ecosystem.
